Mathias Villers has once again proven himself to be a top-tier rider in the world of extreme sports, taking home a well-deserved third-place finish in the scooter street category at the Worlds Skate Games 2022 in Argentina.

Mathias Villers has emerged as the victor of the prestigious FiseXperience 2022 scooter competition in Le Havre, showcasing an awe-inspiring display of skill and talent on his way to the title.

The event, which brought together some of the best riders in the world, was a true test of grit and determination. However, it was Mathias Villers who stood out from the rest, wowing judges and spectators alike with his incredible performances.

Double Podium for NKD-scooter at the Urban Wolrd Series in Madrid. Current World Champion Lucas Di Meglio (#1) are joined by Mathias Villers (#3) at the podium.

No one can touch our talented riders

Urban Street series were hosting the event “Madrid Urban Sports” (MUS MADRID RIO-MATADERO) this weekend 8-10th October. The scooter event welcomed amateurs, youth riders and PRO riders in Street as well as Park. The park event was won by Jamie Hull (UK). The Street event was hosting big names like Luis Barrios, Carlos Ravello, Auguste Pellaud.

Of Course we were invited to the event as well and we sent your best combo: Mathias Villers and Lucas Di Meglio.

My main objective was to win the Street world championships 2 weeks ago (editor: which he did), but now i win this!? I'm SO HAPPY!

Lucas Di Meglio

Qualifiers

After practice the riders were ready to show their best. Each rider had 2 runs of 45 seconds accounting for 70% of the final score and one best trick at each run accounting for the remaining 30% of the score. Didine Terchague was the first to drop in.

Mathis Villers dropped in as number six and did his best run with 71,77 points which was enough for qualifying in 5th place.

The fight for the best qualifying run was extremely close. Dante Hutchinson (UK) did a solid run and scored 78,10 points just before Lucas Di Meglio dropped in. Excited and ready to give the best, Lucas Di Meglio managed to do a classic run with the best qualifying score of 78,50 points.

Finals

The Finals were to be held late Saturday night 10th of October. At 20:00 the riders started their first run of the finals.

Mathias Villers

Mathis Villers was looking strong going into the finals. He was ready to show the international scooter world what he is made of. As a Hybrid scooter rider who does both street and park, this weekend was dedicated to his street skills. Last week Mathias Villers were in Denmark for the ISF European Qualifiers in only park riding.

The first run by Mathias Villers was great – Starting the run with a solid double whip FS lip slide and ending it with an impressive flair! Unfortunately, because of a missed trick he scored 65,90 points!

This was clearly not enough for Mathias Villers. He was hungry for more! The second run was absolutely great – landing the same tricks with more confidence, speed, and style! This gave him a strong 73,90 score and secured him the third place closely followed by Hutchinson with 73,13 points (#4).

This run secured him third place at the Urban World Series in Madrid!

World Champion Lucas Di Meglio:

Lucas came into this event with the title of street World Champion of 2021.

With high expectations from the fans in Madrid, Lucas Di Meglio had to show the world that he could defend his world championship title.

Lucas Di Meglio is the absolute most consistent rider on the street scene at the moment. Therefore we held our breath as he went in for his first run. As the commentators are talking about the Ferrari shirt he is wearing, Lucas Di Meglio is mentally preparing himself.

Dropping in with the speed of a Ferrari, Lucas performs whip bar BS lip slide to whip with a perfect landing. Continuing with high speed and style the crowd and commentators are blown away. Ending the 45 seconds with the most impressive trick – 270 downside whip to whip out with high speeds!

Second run was just a show off round for Lucas. He had already secured first place. Nonetheless, he did a good SHOW.

Frontboard whip to fakie. Then from fakie to 180 to nose manuel to the end of the platform gapping down 1,5 meters with a barspin and landing on the asphalt clean and steeze!

ISF Qualifiers for World Championships

You wan’t believe what Mathias Villers did at this park event!

Even though our NKD-riders are more Street-minded than most ISF-tours – Mathias Viller was at the event in Brande, Denmark. The competion for the european qualification to ISF World Championships is tough.

As always, we had a memorable week with our brilliant French Rider Mathias Villers, who participated in the Qualifiers held on the 2^nd and 3^rd of October, 2021.

Location:

We were delighted to return to Urban Street Zone in Denmark, where our technically strong and top-performing rider Mathias Villers participated in the “European Open Championship’s qualifiers”.

It was purely a park riding event held during the course of the weekend. Mathias had a slight disadvantage as he went into this park-event as a hybrid scooter rider, meeting the best park riders in europe.

I won't say that it was not my typpe of event cause i'm not more street than park.. The thing is that i would consider myself as a hybrid scooter rider with my own style riding ramps rails, coping, spines ect.. Not ONLY skate park as this event by ISF

Mathias Villers (known as Akwabaa_m on instagram were he has +10k follower) was interviewed by a strong team of photographers. The interview was filmed for a documentary that will be shown on Viaplay. Competitors:

Another highly promising feature of the competition were the strong competitors who were participating in the event. Thus, adding to the interest of the audience and spectators. Competitors included Jordan Clark, who recently proved his worth by becoming the Park World Champion. Jamie Hull, who is the current British Freestyle Scooter Park Champion, was also among the participants. In addition to them, David Senkyr also visited the competition.

Result

Saturday, Mathias Villers gave a strong show! With his unique style he landed all his tricks to please the crowd. Three runs with all landed tricks is guite strong! Mathias Villers scored him an appreciable 56.50 points in run 3rd, which put him on the 28^th spot.

Honestly it was one of the biggest contest of my life competing with big names today. It was so Crazzzy, nice experience and let's do better next time!!

This is how Lucas di Meglio won the street World Championship 2021

After a crazy championship, Lucas Di Meglio shows the world of scoot why he is the absolute best! History was made – absolute insane run! We could not be more happy to be part of your journey <3

Qualifying:

The excited participants have been riding the obstacles of the 2021 World championships in Barcelona for the last few days. Butterflies in the stomach are building up as the qualifying rounds are about to start in the street scooter tournament friday 24th of september.

Strong run was performed with style and high efficiency by both the Danish star Christian Jensen (84p) and Finnish Matis Neyroud (88p). Lucas di Meglio closed the qualifying round with a flawless 93.67p run – almost 6 points more than his closest opponent (MN).

Semi finals:

The semi finals are about to start Saturday morning. Again, many riders show how competitive this game is. As Lucas di Meglio is about to start, the other riders are holding their breath with high expectations for his first run in the semi.

As he drops in, he knows what to do and how to do it. It is clear that he is confident. Unfortunately, he slips and fails a trick which means he’ll not finish this run with a score that gives him access to the finals. Even though you might fear that Lucas could have a panic attack because of the high pressure in this crucial 2nd run – he went back with even higher speeds and better style – securing a place in the finals.

Finals – History was made!

Later Saturday evening the finals are planned to start. Little does Lucas di Meglio know that he is about to make history. This time Lucas drops in with high speed and an attitude that cannot be mistaken – he is gonna kill this tournament!

Never before have we seen as good of a run as Lucas performed this evening. The judges were impressed and the crowd was going crazy. An almost perfect score of 98 points!? At this point it was clear that Lucas would take the number 1 spot at the world championships of 2021.

After the riders first run, the late night rain came and the rest of the finals were postponed.

You’ll not believe what the rain coursed!?

Immediately after the rain had stopped, the officials stated that the finals had to be re-run. This meant that the best run in history would be disqualified. Lucas di Meglio was devastated while other riders saw their chance to maybe make a comeback if the 1st runs were disqualified. After a while and discussion between the judges they decided that all the riders who had completed their first run would count towards the postponed Finals sunday.

Finals Sunday morning was good – but there was no doubt that Lucas di Meglio would be crowned as the King of Street riding!

FISE Xperience – Le Havre Stunt Scooter Competition

Lucas wins the Le Havre competition in the FISE Xperience Series 2021.

FISE Xperience series remains among the more prominent events organized by FISE.

ETAPE#1: Le Havre featured commitment, professionalism, hard work, and performance in a highly competitive environment. Le Havre has one of the largest skate parks in the France with a bowl area of more than 12000m².

The event was scheduled between 27-29 August and NKD-scooters was on the spot with three of our pro stunt scooter riders.

Besides the professional bowl category for scooters, FISE Xperience also ceompeted in Amateur, Juniors, and womens categories. The events include BMX, Roller, Scooter, and Skateboard.

NKD scooters was represented by

22 years old DI Meglio, Lucas
21 years old Dufal, Hugo
20 years old Villers, Mathias.

All three exhibited excellent skills and control as they put on a great show at the stunt scooter’s event.

Qualification

During the evening timeslot on the 27^th of August, a qualification event for the Trottinette (stunt scooter) bowl – PRO took place. Dufal Hugo did not have as good an evening as he would have liked. Nevertheless, he did well enough to qualify for the finals. He secured the 11^th spot in the event with an accumulation of 60.66 points. However, the other two riders had a relatively better time on the bowl, as both not only qualified but qualified while dominating the scene.

The Competition was highly competitive, which is obvious by the fact that Villers, Mathias and DI Meglio, Lucas has a difference of only 0.34 points between them. Lucas remained a class apart as he secured an outstanding 74 points in the qualification round to finish at the first spot in the qualifications. On the other hand, Mathias scored 73.66 points and finished 3^rd in Qualifications.

Finals

The next day featured the finals and brilliants finals they were. In Men’s Pro-Scooter Competition, Lucas, Mathias, and Hugo once again took the stage. Hugo had a much better evening than the previous one, as both his position in the Competition and the points improved significantly. He secured 68.66 points and finished 6^th in the pro-scooter Competition.

Results

Mathias certainly could not translate his form into the finals as we saw a slight dip in his performances. He scored 67.66 points while finishing at the 7^th spot in the Competition.

However, the show was stolen by the world-class Di Meglio, Lucas, who scored a stunning 86.33 points to finish the stunt scooter competition as the overall champion of the Men’s Pro Scooter Competition in the Le Havre event of the FISE Xperience Series.

With the vicotry Lucas can look forwards to the World Championship event scheduled to be held at Barcelona next weekend. He will compete in street style competition instead of the bowl. We are looking forward to some wonderful performances from him over there as well.
